I am continually learning and being inspired by the children around me.
It was a joy to help her and a blessing for me to feel her enthusiasm toward life and the equality between us during our conversation. She asked me questions such as, “How old are you?” and “What’s your class?” She responded to my answer of “36” with “Wow, well I’m 6,” and to my answer of “This class here,” she shared, “Wow, I’m in pre-primary, it’s over there.” I could sense that she had a wonderment and amazement about life and that everything and everyone felt special to her. So after I helped her put her shoes on the correct feet; undid the double knots and re-tied her shoes for her; she joyfully bounced back to her pre-primary line.
Even this morning I am left with the specialness of this interaction and with the realisation that every moment is truly precious, an opportunity and a moment for connection.
